Multi-State Drug Busts: Meth, Cocaine, Firearms Seized in Six States

Drug investigations and traffic stops across six states led to arrests and seizures of methamphetamine, cocaine, firearms, and paraphernalia. Charges include possession with intent to distribute, firearm offenses, and tampering with evidence.

Law enforcement agencies in Virginia, Delaware, New York, South Carolina, Massachusetts, and Maryland arrested multiple people and seized narcotics, firearms, and drug paraphernalia during recent drug investigations and traffic stops.

In Botetourt County, Virginia, a months-long drug distribution investigation ended with the seizure of more than five ounces of methamphetamine and three firearms from a home in the 200 block of Allen Branch Road in Eagle Rock. Kevin Lucas Carter, 27, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute 100 grams or more of methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I or II controlled substance while possessing a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was held without bond at the Botetourt County Jail, and authorities said the investigation remains active.

In New Castle, Delaware, state police arrested 41-year-old John Dupree II after a cocaine distribution investigation. Detectives saw Dupree arrive at Beaver Brook Plaza on June 29 and recovered approximately 127 grams of suspected powder cocaine from his vehicle. He was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance Tier 3 quantity, possession of a controlled substance Tier 3 quantity, tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia, and was committed on a $51,100 cash bond.

In North Syracuse, New York, state police executed a search warrant at 458 South Main Street on May 27 and seized approximately 20 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 1 gram of cocaine, 1 gram of crack cocaine, a digital scale containing residue, and packaging materials. Martin A. Guerrero, 56, and Frederick J. Crimmins, 40, were arrested on drug and paraphernalia charges.

Several traffic stops also led to arrests. In Greenville County, South Carolina, a deputy stopped a vehicle traveling 125 mph on I-385; the passenger had an outstanding warrant, and deputies found a firearm, drug paraphernalia, and more than a gram of methamphetamine. In Prince Frederick, Maryland, deputies found a loaded .40 caliber handgun and a prescription bottle containing promethazine syrup with an altered label after a K-9 alerted to a vehicle; Jason Joseph Baldwin, 22, and Javiyon Marquise Buck, 20, were charged with handgun-related and other offenses. In Chicopee, Massachusetts, Adam Battles, 24, was arrested after officers found marijuana, a digital scale, and a loaded handgun in a backpack during a May 13 traffic stop; he did not have a license to carry.

In a separate Chicopee investigation, police and the FBI arrested Christopher Kurtz and Tiffany Boberek following searches on Britton Street and Lavalle Avenue, charging both with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and heroin or fentanyl.
