Multiple Drug Busts in NC and TN Lead to Over 30 Arrests

Two major drug trafficking investigations in North Carolina and Tennessee have led to over 30 arrests combined. The North Carolina case resulted in more than 170 charges after seizing cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, guns and cash. In Tennessee, 15 individuals were indicted for conspiring to distribute cocaine, with seizures including fentanyl, marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, firearms and cash.

More than 30 people have been arrested in two separate drug trafficking investigations in North Carolina and Tennessee, resulting in over 170 combined charges in one case and the indictment of 15 individuals in the other.

In North Carolina, more than a dozen people are facing criminal charges and warrants have been issued for several more after a drug-trafficking investigation at several ABC businesses in Henderson and Vance County. According to North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement, special agents began investigating in January 2026 after several complaints of loitering and harassment by suspected drug dealers at several establishments. Agents purchased trafficking amounts of controlled substances from suspects, including gang members, sex offenders, runaways and others with violent criminal history.

Seizures during the North Carolina investigation included more than half a pound of cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine. MDMA, opioids, heroin, $5,479 in cash and 10 guns, which agents say were primarily possessed by convicted felons, were also seized. Agents said key participants in the trafficking operation collaborated with gangs to distribute drugs into the local community and discovered evidence that illicit drugs were being made inside homes where children were present.

Three people were arrested for armed robbery during the investigation, including a 15-year-old. Illegal gambling machines were found at several businesses involved in the illegal drug trafficking, with four locations searched: 4U Country Store, Park and Play, New Hope Mini Mart and Williamsboro Grocery. Officers seized illegal gaming equipment as well as $35,677 in cash.

The operation concluded on June 17 and June 18 with help from Henderson Police, the Vance County Sheriff’s Office and the State Bureau of Investigation. Officials said seven search warrants were executed and arrests or warrants were obtained for more than 15 people on a combined total of more than 170 charges.

Meanwhile in Tennessee, more than a dozen people are facing charges in connection to a Knoxville Police Department and FBI investigation into a cocaine distribution network. The Knoxville Police Department announced that 15 people had been indicted on a variety of charges, including conspiracy to distribute over 300 grams of cocaine. The department added that multiple individuals who were indicted were verified members of the Bloods street gang.

The initial investigation was focused on two apartments on South Olive Street that were suspected of distributing various narcotics, primarily cocaine. During an arrest operation Wednesday and Thursday, 12 people were taken into custody by KPD Organized Crimes Unit detectives, Special Operations Squad personnel, Community Engagement Response Team officers, Violent Crimes Unit detectives and Drug Related Death Task Force personnel. Two others were indicted as part of the investigation but were arrested ahead of the arrest operation. The FBI also took one person into custody on federal drug trafficking charges Wednesday.

Through the course of the Tennessee investigation, officers seized over 100 grams of suspected fentanyl, approximately two pounds of marijuana, around 150 grams of cocaine and 70 grams of methamphetamine, five firearms and over $10,000 in cash. The Knoxville Police Chief stated, "This investigation and indictment will go a long way towards disrupting the flow of deadly narcotics in our community." The investigation is ongoing, with officers continuing efforts to locate additional people indicted as part of the conspiracy investigation.
