Enanta Pharmaceuticals to Present Zelicapavir RSV Data at ESCMID Global 2026

Enanta Pharmaceuticals will present Phase 2b data showing zelicapavir improves RSV symptom resolution by about a week and reduces hospitalization rates. The oral N-protein inhibitor also demonstrates high resistance barrier in pediatric studies. Presentations will occur at the ESCMID Global 2026 conference in Munich.

Enanta Pharmaceuticals will present new data on its oral RSV treatment zelicapavir at the European Society of Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases Global 2026 conference in Munich. The company announced that data on zelicapavir, an oral, once-daily, N-protein inhibitor in development for respiratory syncytial virus treatment, have been accepted for two oral presentations at the conference being held April 17-21, 2025.

The first oral presentation will include results from RSVHR, the Phase 2b study of zelicapavir in high-risk adults, which were announced in September 2025, showing about a week improvement in complete symptom resolution and a lower hospitalization rate, and featuring new findings demonstrating strong exposure multiples over the EC90. The second oral presentation will highlight new data confirming zelicapavir's high clinical and functional barrier against antiviral resistance, generated from the Phase 2 study in pediatric patients, which was announced in September 2024.

Details of the presentations include a presentation titled "Zelicapavir Decreases Symptom Duration, Hospitalization and Viral Load in a Global, Randomized, Double-Blinded, Placebo-Controlled Phase II Trial of High-Risk Adults with RSV" scheduled for April 18, 2026. An ePoster titled "Zelicapavir Demonstrates High Clinical and Functional Barrier Against Antiviral Resistance: Results from a Randomized Double-Blind Placebo-Controlled Pediatric RSV Antiviral Clinical Trial" will also be presented on the same date.

Enanta is a clinical stage biotechnology company dedicated to creating small molecule drugs for viral infections and immunological diseases. The company's clinical programs are currently focused on respiratory syncytial virus, and its earlier-stage immunology pipeline aims to develop treatments for inflammatory diseases by targeting key drivers of the type 2 immune response, with KIT, STAT6 and MRGPRX2 inhibition.

Glecaprevir, a protease inhibitor discovered by Enanta, is part of one of the leading treatment regimens for curing hepatitis C virus infection and is sold by AbbVie in numerous countries under the tradenames MAVYRET and MAVIRET. A portion of Enanta's royalties from HCV products developed under its collaboration with AbbVie contribute ongoing funding to Enanta's operations.
