Delaware State Police Arrest Newark Man on Felony Drug Charges in Townsend

Delaware State Police arrested 31-year-old Wilkin Dejesus-Perez of Newark on felony drug charges following a multi-month drug distribution investigation in Townsend. The arrest occurred on July 29, 2026, when detectives conducted a traffic stop on Dejesus-Perez’s Honda Accord at a convenience store on DuPont Parkway. He was taken into custody without incident. A search of the vehicle yielded approximately 34 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 2.8 grams of suspected cocaine, 6.8 grams of suspected heroin, a fraudulent Delaware identification card, and more than $2,200 in suspected drug proceeds. Dejesus-Perez was charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance Tier 3 Quantity (Felony), two counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance Tier 3 Quantity (Felony), Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Felony), Forgery Second Degree (Felony), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Department of Correction on an $84,200 cash bond. The investigation began in June 2026 when troopers received information that Dejesus-Perez was distributing narcotics in Townsend. Detectives from the Special Investigations Unit determined he was dealing drugs from his vehicle.
