LIXTE Biotechnology Appoints Sidney Braun as CEO of Liora Technologies Subsidiary

LIXTE Biotechnology Holdings appointed Sidney Braun as CEO of its Liora Technologies Europe Ltd. subsidiary to lead advancement of the LiGHT System proton therapy platform following the company's November 2025 acquisition of Liora's assets.

LIXTE Biotechnology Holdings (NASDAQ: LIXT), a clinical-stage pharmaceutical and med-tech company advancing cancer treatments, announced the appointment of Sidney Braun as Chief Executive Officer of its Liora Technologies Europe Ltd. subsidiary. Braun, who previously facilitated LIXTE's November 2025 acquisition of Liora's assets, brings more than 20 years of healthcare operational and strategic advisory experience and will lead advancement of Liora's LiGHT System, an electronically controlled proton therapy platform designed to enhance tumor treatment.

LIXTE recently acquired Liora Technologies, which is pioneering proton therapy systems for treating tumors in various types of cancers. Liora is becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of LIXTE, and the acquisition also includes Liora's proprietary flagship technology, the LiGHT System (Linac for Image Guided Hadron Therapy), which offers many advantages over other technologies that are currently available for treating tumors with proton therapy.

The highly adaptable LiGHT System provides a proton beam allowing the delivery of very high dose rates to deep-seated tumors. The system is believed to offer a more affordable, compact, and efficient design, along with better treatment precision than traditional technologies. In addition to the unique biological effects, it will also greatly reduce the installation cost and the number of treatment sessions needed, compared to current technologies, and is expected to significantly increase the number of patients that a treatment center can serve.

Management said the appointment supports its strategy to scale the technology and pursue a recurring revenue model within the radiotherapy segment of cancer care. The system complements LIXTE's lead clinical candidate, LB-100, which is a small-molecule PP2A inhibitor which is designed to enhance the activity of immunotherapy and chemotherapy.

LIXTE Biotechnology Holdings is a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company focused on new targets for cancer drug development and developing and commercializing cancer therapies. LIXTE has demonstrated that its first-in-class lead clinical PP2A inhibitor, LB-100, is well-tolerated in cancer patients at doses associated with anti-cancer activity. Based on extensive published preclinical data, LB-100 has the potential to significantly enhance chemotherapies and immunotherapies and improve outcomes for patients with cancer.

LIXTE's lead compound, LB-100, is part of a pioneering effort in an entirely new field of cancer biology – activation lethality – that is advancing a new treatment paradigm. LIXTE's new approach is covered by a comprehensive patent portfolio. Proof-of-concept clinical trials are currently in progress for Ovarian Clear Cell Carcinoma and Metastatic Colon Cancer.
