iPSC-derived NK cell pipeline shows 12-plus active players and 15-plus drugs

The iPSC-derived NK cells pipeline includes 12+ active players and 15+ drugs in development. FT522 is in Phase I, while CNTY-101 and NCR300 are among other programs in the clinic.

iPSC-derived NK cells clinical trial activity is expanding, with 12+ active players working to develop 15+ pipeline iPSC-derived NK cells drugs. Promising pipeline therapies, such as CNTY-101, CTH-401, FT522, NCR300, HC101a, AKT-01, and others, are in different phases of iPSC-derived NK cells clinical trials.

The clinical trial analysis report said key companies, such as Century Therapeutics, Cartherics Pty Ltd, Fate Therapeutics, Nuwacell Biotechnologies Co., Ltd., HebeCell and Healios, are evaluating new iPSC-derived NK cells drugs to improve the treatment landscape. Approximately 3+ iPSC-derived NK cell drugs are in the early stages of development.

A snapshot of the pipeline therapies listed in the report included:

  • CNTY-101 | Century Therapeutics | Phase I/II | Autoimmune disorders | Intravenous
  • FT522 | Fate Therapeutics | Phase I | Relapsed/Refractory B-Cell Lymphoma | Intravenous
  • NCR300 | Nuwacell Biotechnologies Co., Ltd. | Phase I | Myelodysplastic Syndromes; Acute Myeloid Leukemia | Intravenous
  • CTH-401 | Cartherics Pty Ltd | Preclinical | Endometriosis; Ovarian cancer; Solid tumours | Intraperitoneal
  • HC101a | HebeCell | Preclinical | Pulmonary metastasis of Pediatric Sarcoma | NA

For Fate Therapeutics, the company said FT522, incorporating ADR technology, is designed to function without intense conditioning chemotherapy, targeting B cell-mediated autoimmune diseases and relapsed/refractory BCL. The company said it plans to expand clinical investigations of FT522 in autoimmune diseases.

The annual report also said Fate Therapeutics is developing a pipeline of off-the-shelf cellular immunotherapies using iPSC technology, focusing on T-cell and NK cell product candidates, and operates a 40,000+ square foot GMP facility in San Diego, California, for the production of iPSC-derived CAR T-cell and CAR NK cell product candidates, supporting all phases of clinical development and initial commercialization.
