Effect of Prostatic Urethra and Seminal Vesicle Morphometry on Ejaculation
NCT07614854 · Status: NOT_YET_RECRUITING · Type: OBSERVATIONAL · Enrollment: 150
Last updated 2026-05-29
Summary
This study investigates whether the size and shape of the prostatic urethra and seminal vesicles - measured on multiparametric prostate MRI (mpMRI) - are related to premature ejaculation (PE) severity in men.
Men aged 18-55 who are already scheduled for a prostate mpMRI (due to elevated PSA or hematospermia) will be invited to participate. Participants will be divided into two groups: those with premature ejaculation and a healthy control group without ejaculatory complaints.
Anatomical measurements including prostatic urethral length, prostatic urethral angulation, seminal vesicle dimensions, and their ratios will be obtained from existing MRI images. PE severity will be assessed using validated questionnaires (PEDT, PEP, IELT) and erectile function will be confirmed with IIEF-15. Hormonal and demographic data will also be collected.
The goal is to determine whether specific anatomical features of the prostatic urethra and seminal vesicles correlate with PE severity, while controlling for confounding factors such as age, sexual abstinence duration, and hormone levels.
