Summary

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die.

PURPOSE: Phase II trial to compare the effectiveness of octreotide alone or with prednisone in treating patients with metastatic or recurrent thymoma.
