RCB Announces Multiple Research and Apprenticeship Opportunities

The Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) in Faridabad, an institution of national importance under the Department of Biotechnology, has announced several employment and training openings. These include a postdoctoral entrepreneurial fellowship with a ₹1.30 lakh monthly stipend, a project associate role in tuberculosis research, and an apprenticeship program for life sciences graduates.
The BRIC-BIRAC Post Doc Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) fellow position aims to identify agro-chemicals that inhibit ABA biosynthesis proteins or anion channels to regulate stomatal opening despite ABA accumulation. Essential qualifications include a PhD in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Agriculture, Physiology, Agronomy, or related fields, with preference for experience in plant molecular biology and agronomy assays. The fellowship offers ₹1.30 lakhs per month, initially for one year with possible extensions. Applicants must apply online by February 25, 2026 (5:00 PM), with shortlisted candidates informed by March 3, 2026, for an interview on March 9, 2026. The principal investigator is Dr. Ramu S. Vemanna, Associate Professor.
A Project Associate II position is available for a project titled “Exploring Ribosome Hibernation in Mycobacterium tuberculosis as a Potential Anti-Tuberculosis Drug Target,” under investigator Dr. Prem S. Kaushal, Associate Professor. The role involves molecular biology experiments including gene cloning, protein and ribosome purification, and supporting cryo-EM studies. Candidates need an M.Sc. in Life Sciences with at least 60% marks and NET/DBT-JRF/GATE qualification, plus a minimum of two years of research experience. The fellowship is ₹42,000 per month plus 27% HRA. The application deadline is July 24, 2026 (5:00 PM), with interviews on July 28, 2026. Only one position is available and the project duration is initially one year.
For early-career graduates, RCB is offering four apprentice positions in Biological Science. Applicants with a B.Tech/B.Sc in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or Microbiology are eligible, with preference for those registered on the NATS portal within the last three years. The apprenticeship lasts one year with a stipend of ₹13,500 per month. Walk-in interviews will be held on June 8–9, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the NCR Biotech Science Cluster, Faridabad. Applicants must bring original certificates, CV, Aadhaar card, and passport-size photos.
