Dexamethasone is a fluorinated glucocorticoid used broadly for anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive purposes across rheumatic, allergic, pulmonary, neurologic, oncologic, and endocrine indications. It is available in multiple administration routes including oral, injectable, ophthalmic, and topical forms. It is an established generic essential medicine.
