FAP in this disease context refers to familial adenomatous polyposis, an autosomal dominant inherited colorectal cancer predisposition syndrome caused mainly by APC pathogenic variants. It leads to development of numerous colorectal adenomatous polyps and a very high cancer risk without intervention. Surveillance and prophylactic management are central to care.
