Ependymoma is a primary central nervous system tumor arising from ependymal cells and can occur in the brain or spinal cord. It represents a biologically heterogeneous group of tumors with distinct molecular and anatomic subtypes. Management is centered on maximal safe resection and risk-adapted adjuvant therapy.
