Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma is a common skin malignancy arising from keratinocytes and is the second most common cutaneous malignancy in the United States. Risk factors include ultraviolet radiation, immunosuppression, older age, and fair skin. Although metastasis is uncommon, timely diagnosis and treatment are important to reduce morbidity and mortality.
