Bowel cancer, also called colorectal cancer, is cancer that starts in the colon or rectum. It is a major gastrointestinal malignancy and a leading cause of cancer morbidity and mortality.
Daily aspirin use does not prevent bowel cancer in the general population within 5-15 years and carries immediate bleeding risks, according to a new Cochrane review. However, long-term low-dose aspirin is associated with lower colorectal cancer risk in IBD patients.
Researchers have developed modified CAR T cells that overcome prostaglandin E2 suppression in solid tumors and a selective therapy targeting IGHV4-34 that spares healthy immune cells, addressing key limitations in current treatments.
