WELL Health and HEALWELL AI Launch WELLTRUST for AI-Powered Clinical Trial Recruitment
WELL Health Technologies and HEALWELL AI launched WELLTRUST in Canada to support consent-first, AI-powered clinical trial recruitment. The platform gives patients control over research outreach and integrates DARWEN AI for patient identification.
WELL Health Technologies and HEALWELL AI have jointly launched WELLTRUST, a consent-first data governance and patient-identification platform designed to securely mobilize data across WELL-operated clinics in Canada. The first commercial use of WELLTRUST integrates WELL’s large care delivery network with HEALWELL’s DARWEN AI platform to ethically identify and engage eligible patients with chronic, rare and complex conditions for clinical trials at scale.
The system gives patients clear, flexible control over how their health information is used for research outreach, allowing them to opt in or decline while continuing to receive regular care without impact. The collaboration seeks to streamline the process of identifying eligible participants for medical studies while prioritizing ethical standards and patient privacy.
The WELLTRUST platform will utilize advanced AI technology to match patients with relevant clinical trials based on their health data, ensuring that the process remains secure and transparent. By embedding robust privacy, consent and data-governance features, the platform positions WELL and HEALWELL as key partners for pharmaceutical sponsors and research organizations.
The companies said the initiative is designed to improve accessibility for patients interested in participating in research while supporting more efficient trial recruitment methods. WELLTRUST also lays a foundation for future applications such as real-world evidence generation and enhanced clinical decision support tools.
