Labcorp Medical Director Highlights MRD Testing, Breast Cancer Advances, and Health Equity
A Labcorp Drug Development medical director shared insights on MRD testing in lung cancer, breast cancer precision strategies, and cancer research for minority populations. She highlighted a Fox Chase Cancer Center collaboration for an ultra-sensitive MRD assay and discussed progress in ESR1 mutations and oral SERDs.
In a series of LinkedIn posts, the Medical Director of Medical Affairs at Labcorp Drug Development shared perspectives on minimal residual disease (MRD) testing, precision strategies in breast cancer, and a conference focused on advancing cancer research for minority populations.
"As a medical oncologist, I'm incredibly passionate about the potential of MRD testing to transform oncology care and enable truly personalized treatment for our patients with cancer," she wrote. She expressed support for a collaboration between Fox Chase Cancer Center and Labcorp to generate clinical evidence for an ultra-sensitive MRD assay in early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). "Building robust clinical data is a critical step toward bringing this impactful diagnostic tool into routine clinical practice for patients."
Following attendance at MBCC 2026, she noted the meeting focused on ESR1 mutations, the evolving role of oral SERDs, and the growing clinical impact of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) MRD testing in breast cancer. She described it as exciting to see how rapidly the science is translating into more precise treatment strategies. She also highlighted conversations with colleagues committed to improving access to high-quality testing and effective therapies for patients.
She additionally expressed pride in the chair of a conference at the Mays Cancer Center at UT Health San Antonio focused on advancing cancer research for minority populations, stating that the chair's leadership brought experts together to address disparities and drive meaningful change. She expressed gratitude for her team at Labcorp for supporting this effort, adding that advancing health equity takes collaboration.
