LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) is a serotonergic psychedelic hallucinogen and serotonin receptor agonist. Its psychedelic effects are primarily linked to 5-HT2A receptor activation. In U.S. federal scheduling, LSD is listed as Schedule I with no currently accepted medical use.
