Gardasil is a human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine developed by Merck for prevention of disease caused by specific HPV strains. It was approved for medical use in the United States in 2006, and the original quadrivalent product was later replaced by Gardasil 9. Its prevention targets include HPV-related cancers and genital warts.
