Cabozantinib is an oral small-molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor used in oncology and marketed as Cometriq and Cabometyx. It is approved across several cancer indications including medullary thyroid cancer, renal cell carcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and differentiated thyroid carcinoma. Additional neuroendocrine tumor indications were added in 2025.
A 12-week supervised remote exercise program for patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma undergoing immunotherapy showed significant improvements in health-related quality of life, fatigue, and symptom burden in a case series of 19 patients.
Cabozantinib plus metronomic temozolomide showed a 15% response rate and 28.5-month median progression-free survival in a phase 2 NET study. A separate analysis found cabozantinib cost-effective for pancreatic NETs, but not extrapancreatic NETs, in China and the U.S.
The 2026 ASCO GU Symposium featured significant trial results in renal cell carcinoma, urothelial carcinoma, and prostate cancer, including data from LITESPARK-022, KEYNOTE-B15, SunRISE-2, and PEACE-3 studies.
Phase III trial demonstrates belzutifan plus lenvatinib significantly improved progression-free survival versus cabozantinib in previously treated renal cell carcinoma patients, while neoadjuvant studies show promise for locally advanced disease.
