Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) is a progressive inflammatory liver disease that develops in the setting of fatty liver and can progress to fibrosis, cirrhosis, and liver cancer. It was formerly termed nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).
