Gastroparesis is a disorder of delayed gastric emptying in which the stomach slows or stops movement of food to the small intestine without mechanical obstruction. It can cause nausea, vomiting, bloating, early satiety, and nutritional complications. Common associations include diabetes and vagus-nerve injury after upper GI surgery.
