Cutaneous melanoma is melanoma that starts in the skin, arising from melanocytes. It is relatively uncommon among skin cancers but is more aggressive and accounts for most skin-cancer deaths. Early detection is important because prognosis is strongly stage-dependent.
Studies on immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy found pretreatment biomarkers strongly predicted checkpoint inhibitor-associated autoimmune diabetes, while hyperglycemia during treatment was common and did not worsen disease progression.
