CSU commonly refers to chronic spontaneous urticaria, also known as chronic idiopathic urticaria. It is characterized by recurrent wheals, angioedema, or both lasting for more than six weeks. The condition is associated with mast-cell mediated inflammation and can substantially affect quality of life.
