Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) is a rare immune-mediated peripheral neuropathy characterized by progressive sensory loss, weakness, and reduced reflexes due to demyelination. It is treatable but can cause substantial long-term disability if diagnosis and treatment are delayed.
