Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is a chronic inflammatory sinonasal disease characterized by nasal polyps and symptoms such as congestion, rhinorrhea, reduced smell, and facial pressure. It often has recurrent disease burden and can require long-term medical and surgical management.
Upstream Bio presented additional Phase 2 VIBRANT trial data showing verekitug reduced nasal polyp scores and congestion in chronic rhinosinusitis patients, while Phase 2 VALIANT trial results demonstrated significant reductions in asthma exacerbations with multiple dosing regimens.
The European Commission has approved GSK's Exdensur (depemokimab) as the first ultra-long-acting biologic for severe asthma with type 2 inflammation and chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, offering twice-yearly dosing based on positive phase 3 trial results.
