Egoscue and Core Stabilization for Chronic Low Back Pain
NCT07684118 · Status: ENROLLING_BY_INVITATION · Phase: NA · Type: INTERVENTIONAL · Enrollment: 64
Last updated 2026-07-16
Summary
Chronic low back pain is a widespread musculoskeletal condition that limits mobility and affects quality of life. It is often caused due to the poor posture, hyperlordosis and weak core muscles. This randomized clinical trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of egoscue based postural correction combined with core stabilization exercises compared to core stabilization exercises alone in managing chronic low back pain. The primary outcomes measures includes numeric pain rating scale (NPRS), disability (Oswestry Disability Index), while secondary outcomes includes range of motion (Inclinometer), and posture (flexicurve Ruler).

Core stabilization exercises
* Physiotherapy care: 10 minutes of hot pack therapy combined with TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) for pain relief, reduction of muscle spasm, and muscle relaxation before exercise intervention. * Core stabilization exercises:15 minutes core stabilization exercises including Crook Lying Position(20sec),Crook Lying with One Leg Extended,Quadruped with Neutral Head(3X5reps),Plank Position(10sec),prone lying arm at side(15sec),Sitting Erect on Chair, trunk muscle activation, and postural control. * Treatment schedule: Total treatment session will consist of 45 minutes including 10 minutes of hot pack with TENS and 35 minutes of core stabilization exercises. Treatment will be provided 3 sessions per week for 8 weeks.
