Trial Outcomes & Findings for REduction of Physical Inactivity Facing the CAncer (NCT NCT02867475)

NCT ID: NCT02867475

Last Updated: 2026-07-02

Results Overview

CaBES scores were only collected for Study 2 to evaluate the impact of randomized experimental conditions (IM vs. EM messages) on psychological barriers. The scale measures 5 dimensions of exercise-related beliefs: motivation (MOT), self-efficacy (AUTOEFF), treatment side effects (EFFSEC), benefits (BEN), and risks (RIS). Each dimension score ranges from a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 6. Higher values represent a better outcome (1 indicates the lowest level and 6 indicates the highest level).

Baseline Characteristics

The CaBES scores were only collected for participants in Study 2. This psychometric assessment was designed specifically to evaluate the impact of randomized experimental conditions (IM vs. EM messages), which was not an objective for the general baseline group.

This group represents the initial screening and selection cohort evaluated using the Dijon Physical Activity Score. Participants who demonstrated a score of 20 or less were selected to proceed and be enrolled into Study 2. Consequently, randomized experimental interventions and specific psychometric outcomes (such as the CaBES assessment) were not administered to participants in this screening arm who did not meet the inclusion criteria for Study 2.

PRIMARY outcome

Timeframe: Post-intervention on Day 1

Population: This outcome measure was exclusively assessed in participants who entered Study 2. Participants in Study 1 did not complete this questionnaire, as Study 1 served solely as a preliminary screening phase to identify and select eligible patients for the randomized experimental conditions of Study 2. Therefore, no data were collected or analyzed for the Study 1 cohort.

Evaluation of the identification with the character in the video using 3 items adapted from McQueen and Kreuter (1999). Scores range from 1 to 6, with higher scores indicating stronger perceived similarity.
