Summary

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die.

PURPOSE: Phase I trial to determine the effectiveness of mafosfamide in treating patients who have progressive or refractory meningeal tumors.
