Summary
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die.
PURPOSE: Phase I/II trial to study the effectiveness of homoharringtonine in treating patients who have refractory acute promyelocytic leukemia.
